5 Minute Epoxy

1) Remove mold release: Wash everything in warm soapy water. Scrub with the toothbrush, rinse, change the water and repeat. Dry.

Clean each piece with acetone. Pour acetone into cup and dip the toothbrush into it. Quickly brush the individual pieces and allow to dry.

If you don’t want to use acetone, many people have had success using diluted bathroom cleaners. If you look around on the Internet, there are many differing opinions on how to remove mold release, but the important thing is that you get it off. Otherwise, neither the glue nor the paint will stick.

2) Trim flash off each piece. Using a sharp hobby knife, carefully trim off the flash from each piece.

3) Floors: Using a hobby knife, clean the adjoining edges of each floor section until the slide together easily. They should be snug, but not so tight you have to force them. Light sanding may be required. If sanding is needed, use 220 paper, coarser paper will take too much off too quickly. Do not glue them together at this point.

4) Columns and walls. There are 2 different sizes of wall section, and 3 different columns. The smaller walls go on the outer bays, larger in the middle. The smooth face of the larger columns face to the outside of the structure, the smaller ones are for the interior.

Check to see if all pieces fit. If not trim or sand until everything fits. Each piece should both fit into the floor section and into each other. After you've pieced them together, set the runners for the gantry in and make sure everything fits. Check to see if the columns are plumb with each other and each piece seats in the floor sections.

The doors will almost certainly be too thick to slide freely inside the runners. Check this now. Sand with 100 grit paper on a smooth solid surface until it slides easily. If you sand too much off, don't worry this one isn't critical.

With both sides of the hanger assembled, check to make sure the door slides freely. If not, keep sanding

Do not glue yet.

5) Catwalk: There are 6 different walkway pieces, and 8 small lifts (these are small rectangles.). Check each of these to see if they fit correctly.

6) Glue: Once you've checked all of the floor sections, wall sections, columns, doors and walkways, dismantle.

It is strongly recommended that you use 220 grit paper to lightly sand the adjoining faces of every part that will be glued together. After sanding, be sure to remove all of the dust before applying glue.

Glue in the same order as you did the dry run. I strongly recommend allowing the glue to fully dry for each section before starting the next. i.e.: glue the floors, allow to dry, glue the walls and columns, allow to dry. Glue walkways, allow to dry.

Optional: For added strength, you can ‘pin’ the larger pieces together. This can be done with a small drill and pieces of paperclip.

7) Glue on the man doors. There are two types, an interior and exterior. Don't forget to sand the joining face and the part of the wall it is glued to. Allow to dry.

8) Gantry: the gantry is made up of 5 parts: box, hook, crossbar and two gears. Glue the box and hook together before sliding the box on the crossbar. Allow to dry.

Next, slide the box over the crossbar and set aside. Place the two gears on the runner bars at one end. With he edge touching the buffers. Place a small amount of glue on the top of each gear (smooth side) and carefully center the crossbar on top. Allow to dry

Your kit also came with various tool boxes and diagnostics terminals. There is at least one per bay, but you may have received more. These can be glued in if you like.

Don't glue the roof sections or the main doors.
